November 2, 2017- Jaipur, Rajasthan Principal Secretary- Energy, Sanjay Malhotra, and Chairman of Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), Vishvanath Hiremath, jointly launched the Rajasthan state results of the joint U.S.-India study. The state results demonstrates that Rajasthan’s electricity grid can balance 20 GW of solar and wind energy (equivalent to 49 percent of its generation) at 15-minute operational timescales. Coal generation will be 32 percent less within the state when the 20 GW target is met, compared to a future where no new RE is produced after 2016.
