The 13th Indo-US Economic Summit – Indo-US Relations: Dimension and Emerging Trends

September 14 -15, 2017- New Delhi, The two-day Summit was attended by 200 participants from various sectors — Education, Solar and Energy, Smart Cities, Tourism, etc. Delivering the key note address in the session on “Solar and Renewable Energy – Challenges in Renewable in India’s Power Grid”, Michael Satin, Director of Clean Energy and Environment at USAID India, highlighted the need for Indian energy sector to adapt and develop its capacity to accommodate specific needs for new technologies, new management practices of grid transmission and distribution systems. Presenting on the RISE initiative, Shubhranshu Patnaik, the Chief Of Party (COP) highlighted the opportunities for the private sector in the six grid integration pilots and how the program also envisages to establish a forum of U.S. and Indian companies, Industry Advisory Council (IAC), to share knowledge and facilitate participation of private sector in RE integration.
